Mission Teams

During the last month, we enjoyed having our brother Josh Ferguson with us and we were very pleased to see the way he lives out the Word of God. He was a great encouragement for many, even for people who did not speak English, showing God’s love shining in his life which comes “from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith. (1 Timothy 1:5)
After he received God’s word in his life, he let the Word fill his life, "pursuing righteousness, godliness, faith, love, perseverance and gentleness." (1 Timothy 6:11)
He payed attention to the kids, showed kindness to the elderly and encouraged the young people who rebelled and went astray. For example we went to an evangelistic event and he prayed specifically for a young man who desperately needed the Lord then made friends with him. He fulfilled what the Word of God has to say in Matthew 25:34-40.
Personally, I was very encouraged by Josh and as a family we enjoyed very much his friendship.
And yes, for those of you who don’t know him yet, make friends with him!

May God bless his parents who showed him how to love the Lord so that he found a refuge in God (Proverbs 14:26).

Blessings in Christ,

Last day in Romania – visiting Bucharest – US team’s thoughts and conclusions:
"I will be praying for both, Sector 4 and Budesti. I also will be praying for Romania as a whole that God will be worshiped more than ever! I pray more and more people come to know Christ. I will also be praying for your church and the mission."

"What I’m going to continue to pray hard about is that the churches and villages the ECM team works at will grow a great amount and before you know the love for Christ will be spreading all throughout Romania."

"I pray and believe that God will use many of the brothers and sisters who attended the conferences to fulfill His Commission for His glory!"

After 8 hours driving to Caransebes, more then 400 miles, we spent some moments up, on the top of Little Mountain (Muntele Mic), enjoying the nature that God created.

Next day we had the conference.

Here are some thoughts from a few people who attended at the conference:
"It was very encouraging to see at both conferences that everyone was paying attention and listening to the teaching. Everyone was very kind and loving. I pray they both spread the work of God!"

"I thank God for the opportunity of going to Caransebes and I praise Him for the healthy message I have received there. I have learned how important is to accept the Word of God and to share It with others for His glory."

"Praise be to the Lord for making possible the trip to Alexandria and Caransebes and being able to listen to His Gospel taught by the 3 brothers from Hickory, NC, USA. I have realized how important it is that the Word of God is shared to the person God sends to you, at the right moment, so that this person, in his/her turn, will share it with others, making His name known throughout the world."

"I am glad that I understood how important it is to tell the people the Word of God in the right way."

"It was a wonderful privilege to share at the conferences in both Alexandria and Caransebes. Many wonderful brothers and sisters in Christ came to hear of God’s vision and strategy for making disciples of all nations."

Sunday was a full day, attending church service at Filadelfia Baptist Church in the morning and ministering in two mission points of ECM: Budesti and Sector 4 of Bucharest, in the afternoon.

"I was very surprised by the way the people lived in Budesti. It was shocking to hear that not many adults had jobs and the ones that did had to travel great distance. I loved seeing the kids’ love for Christ and how much they wanted to learn about God. This trip opened my eyes in many ways and can’t wait to come back!"
Paige, 19 years old, Hickory, USA

"What I liked about the kids was the fact that they memorized Bible verses in such a short time and were very attentive for the entire teaching time."
Heather S., Hickory, USA

Conference at the Baptist Church "Emanuel" in Alexandria
"The conference was a great opportunity for the participants from Alexandria and the surrounding towns, to remember the great commission, and for some, to hear for the first time, that, beyond the sharing of our faith in Christ, we are called to make disciples who we should cultivate so that they, in their turn, be able to do the same thing. The ministration of Zach, Johnatan and Isaac determined me to rethink the Christian commission in these terms, too."
Ruben O., Bucharest

"Praises be to our Lord for making possible the trip to Alexandria (and Caransebes – a few days later) and being able to listen to His Gospel taught by the 3 brothers from Hichory, NC, USA. I have realized how important it is that the Word of God is shared to the person God prepares for you, so that, at the right moment, that person goes and shares the Word of God further on… and this way God is made known in the whole world."
Anna I., Bucharest

Friday was a very special day for the kids in Sector 4 and Budesti (two of our mission points in Romania). The best most attentive ones had the opportunity to come (as a reward for the year’s work) and spend the day with us. Together with the Hickory team, we had different sporting contests, games and crafting workshops.

The joy of being there could be seen on their faces! For some, this was the first day away from their home and first time doing most of the activities we did with them!

“I was a little nervous at first about how the kids would react to me. But there was no need to be nervous because as soon as you get there the kids swarm you. I was surprised by how much they loved you for just being there and playing with them. Many of these kids have no one that loves them so it amazed me by how much they loved us.”
Mattie, 14 years old, Hickory
