Italy

Dear friends, It is interesting to observe how many young Romanians went throughout Europe to find work and who have a desire to know and serve our Lord. They went out to earn a living and they gathered together to worship God.They are hungry to learn more and grow in their faith.

In December we were invited by a church leader in Rome, Italy to come and teach God's word at a Saturday conference for church leaders. Then, on Sunday, to visit and preach in churches in the surrounding communities of Rome.

It was a blessing for us to meet real sincere brothers and sisters in the faith and encourage them on to love and good deeds (Hebrews 10:24)

They want us to come back often. There is a similar group of believers in Spain who want us to come and do the same. Please pray for wisdom concerning this great opportunity!

Thank you for all the help and prayers.

Poggio Ubertini Brethren Center is a place where God’s wonderful nature met the gifts He gave to His children. The wonderful love and fellowship among us have encouraged and strengthened me in the ministry God gave me.

We met there Romanians from Italy, Spain, Republic of Moldova and Romania, but also brothers and sisters from the U.S., Canada, Armenia – 8 countries, 2 continents. But what brought us together was Christ.
We had teaching sessions about the missionary family and about how to be the right partner for our spouse.
The pastor from Armenia presented to us the difficult situation that the christian face in their country and in Iran as well and I was encouraged to hear his testimony and the way God blesses those places.
The pastor in Spain presented to us the ministry the church in Torrente (Valencia) is involved - various social activities and sports activities – and we saw how Satan blocks the way many times. But in all things we are victorious in Christ!
The Romanian pastors spoke about the Great Commission of making disciples and that also we, as Christians, need to be careful not to get used with the "unusual".

Three blessed days, praise the Lord!

"I finally had the joy to meet people I was only praying for and see again the ones I knew already. But not just that, God also brought joy to my heart through revealing some of His nature to me. The One who works through miracles and transforms hearts and lives showed me once more what an answered prayer is and that I should continue to pray for greater things! That is because I heard of God’s word transforming Muslims, inmates, homeless people!"

The Romanians brothers from Spain had a very reviving and encouraging time in the beautiful Tuscany.
They enjoyed sharing and having fellowship and will take this experience home, for others to rejoice as well in the grace our Lord is showing.

“Dear Brothers in Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior The whole church of Ponsacco [Chiesa di Ponsacco], thanks you for all the work you carry out in the name Jesus and the time that we were able to spend together.
By faith we are certain that the Lord Jesus as on this occasion has blessed us greatly, as will the future meeting planned for the days of 6-7-8 in December 2008.
There are no words to be able to convey the joy that through the Word of God, we tried being together, we want this to give thanks to God for everything and thank you for the patience that you have dedicated to brothers in need of God’s grace. Grateful that all the glory, honor and power go to God our Father, we encourage you to continue your work with the same dedication shown here until, in the expectation that our Lord Jesus returns."
Pastor Ricardo

The above dates of December 6-8 we will travel to Italy again for a meeting with Italian church leaders from the area of Pisa-central Italy. Our brother Ricardo included these verses from 1 Thess 5:16-28 “Rejoice always; pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. Do not quench the Spirit; do not despise prophetic utterances. But examine everything carefully, hold fast to that which is good;abstain from every form of evil. Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved complete, without blame at the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful is He who called you, and He also will bring it to pass. Brethren, pray for us.
Greet all the brethren with a holy kiss. I adjure you by the Lord to have this letter read to all the brethren. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.” Friends as you pray and help us our Lord is using you as part of this team. Please continue to help us we need all grace available for our God and Father and our Lord Jesus Christ.
Thank you all for your partnership

The Italy missionary trip was a long one, but equally filled with blessings. Every time there’s an act of love shown through their hospitality and affection, we are reminded of Christ’s love. We visited many friends, brothers and sisters in Christ, and it was great seeing again the people in Pordenone.
We do hope our visit encouraged them as it encouraged us. Ponsacco, a town near Pisa was the place where the youth conference was held. As a main topic, we learned about God’s calling to Life, Holiness and Heaven; a very welcoming study for the youngsters and a way to reinforce our relationships with the Romanian and Italian believers. Here are some of the trip’s highlights:

- Whilst present at a prayer meeting in the Romanian church in Cascina (Italy), we had a very nice surprise to meet an Italian councilor at the Town Hall who said that the Italians and the Romanians need eachother and need to work together. He ensured everyone there that the Town hall will support them from now on.
- The testimony of two former nuns in the Italian Church in San Romano was very encouraging; they were testifying how for 13 years a pastor came to them to share the Gospel…and God changed their lives. Halleluiah!
- Within the Romanian believers we were very happy to see another answer of prayer; we prayed for some time for someone to come to faith and it happened.

Our prayer life was encouraged and we are asking God to provide for more funds to be able to visit more often our brothers and sisters, even if they’re Bulgarians or Albanian – in the middle of an Italian church – it matters what keeps us together: Christ’s love!

It was a great privilege for us to be together with our brothers and sisters from Italy for a whole week. We had a good time of fellowship with the family that was kind enough to host us, we tried to encourage and we enjoyed our time together. We were encouraged to find out that some of the Romanian families understood their role as children of God even so far from Romania.

On Thursday evening we met the Romanian youth from Torino during their rehearsals and we had afterwoods a good fellowship time with them, reinforcing our Christian relationship with them.

Together with a some of the youth from Torino, we visited Ponsacco, a small town where we went to encourage the local church.

God works in an amazing way and a few sisters testified for that in Ponsacco. Adriana, a Romanian sister, said that her mother came to faith while attending some Saturday afternoon Bible studies; another Italian sister said that she used to struggle emotionally, but since she was attending Bible studies God helped her to find a balance in her life.

We encouraged our fellow-workers in Christ that they should continue their fellowship with the Italian brothers and sisters and that they would start projects together. We’re hoping that in the future we’ll work with a number of Italian pastors and youth leaders.

We’re praying for 15% of the EU now to come to faith and that is why we need the help of the Italian brothers. We’re soldiers in God’s army and this is why we all have to work where God placed each one of us.
